Before officially becoming an artist, I owned and operated a small remodeling company in Vancouver, Washington. I had never thought of myself as an artist, but found myself drawn to the artistic side of woodworking. I began to experiment with reclaimed wood, reveling in the details and a devotion to small scale craftsmanship.

After realizing I needed a new direction, I began to make a number of positive changes in my lifestyle. I lost weight, got in shape, and started eating a radically improved diet. These changes had a profound impact on my life, unlocking aspects of myself that had been previously inaccessible.

Creating art has really propelled my life forward. My previous experience working with wood and reclaimed timber has had a big impact on the art I create and it’s helped me to bring life and depth to the work I create.
